It's British Cider Week! đź‘‹
Woo-hoo! The first-ever British Cider Week will be taking place from 14th to 23rd April, let’s show this historic beverage some love! 🍻
Organised by a collaboration of cider-makers, retailers, and venues from all over the UK, the aim of the new recognition week is to encourage customers to grab a pint from their local pub or restaurant, try a new variation and attend some of the events.
Everyone is getting involved! The week of activities are being held and organised from a range of cider producers, from smaller, new startup companies to traditional firms with generations of history. Activities will include tastings, tours and competitions 🏆
The Cider Week will also be supported by the National Association of Cider Makers. Public Affairs Director of the association, Mark Hopper, says the week aims to highlight the diversity of ciders in the UK market.
“We’re looking to encourage consumers to delve more into cider, perhaps by purchasing a pint in their local pub or restaurant, picking up a style they haven’t tried before with their weekly shop, or taking part in some of the events and activities that our producers are going to be organising throughout the week.”
At Celtic Marches Cider, we are all too excited for the week. As a single estate producer with 8 generations of history growing Herefordshire cider apples, we appreciate the recognition for British Cider greatly!
